Carborator options?

Someone alluded to this, but I'd think that with a CV carb, that a smaller bore would translate to a greater vacuum and higher air speed flow through the bell housing and faster throttle response. You might in turn lose some ultimate top end to maximum air available, but it seems like you might get a faster responding set up out of the deal.
If you're not doing a pumper, and going for broke on top end that not overdoing it on a CV would pan out better.

See, I use it for putting around the woods. I need it to be more of a nimble mountain goat than a motocross bike. I just need it to have that crack so I can clear the rear wheel and turn with the throttle when need be. I'm perfectly happy with the power it makes, I just want it delivered a little differently. It looks like this is going to do it. Thursday my jets show up.

I just found a source for the T-handle pilot screws for the TM33 carb. Kientech has them. $15+shipping.

It turns out the TM33 is the stock carb for the DR350 off road only model. Anyway, Jesse Kientz and his wife just told me on the phone that they're selling a lot of these carbs to guys upgrading from their dualsport CV carb to the pumper carb. Anyway, they got stuff for sale for these carbs. Really nice people to deal with.

I ran the Mikuni TM36-68 on my 07 KLX and it actually fit better than the stock carb! The throttle response was much better and you can dial in the accelerator pump on both opening and closing. It made a big difference in the trails.

Hey Back Trailin are you running the TM36-68 on a stock bore or big bore?
Ive looked at the feed back from others and it sounds good but thought it would be to much for the stock bore.

I was running it on a stock bore. I heard people say the same thing, that it was too much carb etc. it is only a 2mm increase and made a noticeable difference. I was running a full exhaust system, backfire screen removed, KDX snorkel etc.

That’s what I was thinking but hadn’t heard if any one had done it.........
Do you know what your jetting was? My bike has the same mods not sure on elevation though.
I was going to wait until I did a big bore but now that I know it has worked on stock I might give it a crack earlier.
