I decided to mod my 2007 KLX 250 after getting advice from here by re jetting and a different exhaust.
I emailed Dyna Jet and the said the don't have a kit for my bike. I also found several different exhaust fro FHM, FHF, Big gun .
So now I'm totally confused.I'm using the 250 for trail riding single track stuff not too crazy and not racing.
Does anybody have specific make and part numbers for the jetting and the exhaust?
Since I have never taken apart a carb I will most likely take to a mechanic for the jets but I want to make sure I get the right jets.
Does anybody know a good mechanic in Western Mass ?

Not to be rude but instead of the 16 words you wrote telling me to search, which i did a lot of old threads, you could have just written "KLX 300 kit works and .... exhaust " 7 words.

As TNC said the dyno kit for the 300 will work but it does not come with the pilot jet. You have to order that on its own from the dealer. Not sure of the part number part they should have it. I went with the 38 pilot. Putting them in is not hard at all and here is a link to show the inside of the carb and what the jets are.....See post 29: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=34211
As for the exhaust I went with the powercore 4 (FMF) but it all is your own preferance. Seems the only fitting issues seem to be with the 09 and up, so you should be fine having the 07. Good luck

You can find a really good thread linking to an HMF forum describing the carb removal and re-jetting under one of the FAQs. ah, found it:

I got the DJ 2026 stage 2. Have installed a 38 pilot, but it seems to be running rich so may go back to stock 35, but otherwise is running well. Kouba screw for fuel adjustment is the trick.
