Carb Breather Mod Question

Sorry to dig up an old thread but why put a T/Y peice in the line? Why not just relocate/lengthen the original hose up to the air box?

Then where would any overflow go?

There are both vents and overflow pipes and "normally" nothing comes out except air.
Well a bit might spill from time to time.
But, if you ride like me and crash a lot, then fuel can poor out of these pipes.
Then when you stand it back up
Plus, if you crash it into water

Neils right there really isn't much flow it's just a vent which allows air at atomspheric pressure in to push the gas from an area of higher pressure in the float bowl to an area of lower pressure the venturi in the throat of the carby. Same basic idea for the diaphram... atomspheric pressure v.s the the lower pressure created by the restriction of the throttle plate.
