can stiffer rear rebound minimize nosedive when braking?
I have a stock '09 KLX ridden mostly on the street. I'm thinking when the front goes down the rear must come up; therefore, stiffen rear rebound (in addition to stiffening front compression). Two sides of the same coin... Am I right?

I too ride mostly street with mine. The front springs on these bikes are way too soft. I tried that, and had the front compression all the way, still had bad nosedive. New front springs set for your weight is the only way to stop the nosedive. I changed to RaceTech front and rear springs for my weight, rides like it should now.

I weigh about 215 lbs with gear. I had a SM setup with .44kg springs in the front and a 6.0 kg in the back. Clickers for compression all the way to stiffest setting was a great street setup. Then all I had to do for the dirt was back off a bit on the compression.

Nobrakes has a thread in here with pic's. Find it and it'll walk you thru what needs to be done. It's relatively straight forward. Nothing to worry about. I did mine after reading his thread. You will need a 30mm socket to get the top nut off your tubes unless you want to use a cresant wrench.

It's a very easy job.
Nobrakes report is a good one.

Thanks for the link, that does look pretty simple. Was thinking there'd be some re-valving required or messing with seals/spacers/fluids and stuff.
I weigh 160-170 lbs all geared up. Is there a general rule as to which spring weight is best? Checked the Racetech site but none of the selection options apply to street driven dirt bikes. (instead terms like arenacross, supercross...I have no idea)
