Can a klx be lowered?

RE: Can a klx be lowered?
I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam . I lowered mine with Kouba links and raised the fork tubes, only because in the tight slippy offroad stuff I was on my tippy toes or on my a$$ picking up the bike. On the lol side you could let the air out of the tires, after all they are only flat on the bottom, ha ha got that from an old Kiwi friend. I know there are cheaper links than the Koubas, as mentioned previously.

And over the years I have tried everything.
Altering fork height and changing the rear pre load setting will help a bit.
Changing the linkages is also a relatively cheap way to go.
Cutting the seat down is an option as well.

RE: Can a klx be lowered?
All the above compromise something but, they can easily be done, don't cost much and can easily be reversed.
Another consideration here was that the KLX suspension is not that flash anyway.
The suspension on Nobrakes bike is #%@* hot straight out of the box.
I have finally bitten the bullet and decided to have my suspension professionally lowered and tuned.
After much thought and consultation I decided the benefits out way the down sides.
I have sent the forks and shock to a company called Shock Treatment.
www.shocktreatment.com.au
They are properly lowering the forks and shock.
Changing the springs to suite the new ride height and my weight.
And fitting Race Tech gold valves.
All up the cost will be nearly A$1000.
I am expecting the bits back next week and I will post the results.

RE: Can a klx be lowered?
I knew that I'd have to lower it the first ride. Got mine from eBay and they lowered it about 2 inches. I went down on the front forks about an inch also. Did wonders for me getting on and off the bike. Then I had to chop about 3/4 inch out of the kickstand and had the plate welded on again. Not the bike will stand up at about the right angle with the lowering.
Here is a picture I shot Saturday of the bike and a list of mods I have made.

RE: Can a klx be lowered?
Does adjusting the rear spring help with the hight? Or does that just allow for more cushion for weight? Also, how do i raise the front forks? Is it just a adjustment, or a part i have to buy? Thanks guys
