cameras
I want to get a digital camera to take on rides and was wondering what some of you guys are using. Reading reviews on the cameras is just confusing, so finding out how they perform and hold up from people that ride is the best source of info.

RE: cameras
I USE A SONY CYBER SHOT, IT CAN DO MOVIES ALSO. WITH A 2 GIG CARD YOU CAN GET AROUND 780 PICTURES GOOD QUALITY. THE CAMERA IS SMALLER AND THINER THAN A PACK OF CARDS AND LIGHT WEIGHT. THERE ARE OTHER CAMERAS, LESS EXPENSIVE THAT DO A GOOD JOB ALSO. HOWEVER, THEY MAY NOT MAKE MOVIES.CHECK OUT SOME OF CANON'S SMALL CAMERAS ALSO.

RE: cameras
I use a 3 year old Kodak CX4230 and its junk. I wonder if Kodak has improved their cameras in the last couple of years. You can only take 1 picture every 10 seconds and most of the time its blurry or dark. I'm gonna look into the Sony Cyber Shot. I did find a camera on the Dell website that is a 10 MP and can take 2.5 pictures a second. But its a SLR body, too big to carry on the bike, and it $800.00 so that won't work.

RE: cameras
Hey Deej,The cybershot we have is a DSC-T1(5MP), it's the first oneof the series,I think they have a T-7 now with8MP and a 3 inchview screen. They all do movies with sound and have carl zeiss lenses.I think they run around $380,A bit high, but with camerasyou get what you pay for.I also have a a canon SLR, but too big for most riding situations. One of the main reasons we got bikes, was to access areas in AZ to take pictures.A friend got me started in photography a year ago,we would go out take pictures of old ghost towns and stuff.Actully,he bought me the SLR he thought it was more versital and I could learn more with it.However, I dont regret the sony, because it can take videos and it's so small, you forget you have it with you. With thesony you can shoot just about as fast as you want and very little lag time between pressing the button and capturing the shot. Go to a camera store and try out different ones and see which one suits you,oh and make sure they come with a docking station to re-charge the battery.Good luck.

RE: cameras
i have a Sony Cyber-Shot(DSC-T9) and a older Canon Power Shot S45. Both are great, I havent had much feild time with the cyber shot yet as i just got it for christmas and have nothing to photograph yet but here is a side buy side compairison.
Power Shot(taken by cyber-shot)
\
Cyber Shot(photoed by powershot)
razr to left, cyber shot to right
keep in mind these shots were all resized, and the powershot is no longer produced, so i would recommend any Canon or the cyber shot(only sony cam with experince)
