Default Cam Chain

My 09 had the dreaded chain clank and it was driving me nutz! just past 4000 miles. The dealership told me it was no big deal but thanks to searching this fourum i manually adjusted it one click and it sounds perfect now no more clanky noise! I think it took me less that 5 min to do. thanks to all for the info.

I'm at 1900 now and after riding awhile frustated with the noise i also read on here about adjusting--like having a new bike again. I have found though that sitting on top of a motor you are bound to hear some engine noise----but that cam chain noise is annoying!!
Good luck with your bike and Welcome to the forum!!

Question

What does this involve?...Is it just a matter of removing the adjuster and re-installing as if it were being replaced? I have a little rattle in the bike and I was thinking it may be valves, but doing this adjustment certainly wouldn't hurt anything...and just maybe the noise will disappear?

i think i have the same issue. complained to the mechanic at the dealer when i brought it in for its first service and he just told me it's a Kawi thing....said that all Kawi's seem to have a lot of top-end noise but it was nothing to worry about......i kinda thought he was just brushing it off but who knows...
