Default Are burnouts bad for the bike?

More specifically, are they bad for the clutch and transmission?

My rear tire is toast and I'd like to toast it some more

neah, only thing it's bad on is your tires.

I mean, the initial shock to the clutch might be a LITTLE bad, but nothing like what it sees if you're trail riding on rocks and mixed terrain.

Just be quick and gentle about it, and roast the **** out of the tire!! Oh wait, I forgot to mention to take some video! haha

Depends on how long you take it...
I've seen guys burning out for 3 or 4 minutes, bouncing it off the rev limit, with the exhaust headers glowing red. It doesn't take long to buildup excessive heat with the engine screaming and the bike standing still.

Besides the carcinogenic effects of the chemicals in burnt rubber, the waste of gasoline and money, I think that it is pretty hard on the clutch and gearbox. But then what do I know.
