Bucky Dual Sport ride, Madison Wi Oct 24 sign your butt up
Just saw this on the ADV forum and sent my $$ in this morning. They are only taking 125 entries so if you snooze you lose. FYI the Forrest City Riders dual sport ride in Leaf River IL is the weekend after the Bucky. I plan to do that one too.

Carl I meant to PM you about this thread. I don't know about the db level on the 2bros?
Found this thread, it gives you the method used to measure dbs. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=28358
Contrary to everything said I didn't notice a big difference in the sound of our bikes (2bro vs Q4). I didn't think to compare them when we were riding, the noise from your bike didn't seem to stand out to me.
My Q4 has 96db max printed on the label.. In the above thread Westoz says his is 115db at WOT. The guidelines for testing posted say the test is done at half horsepower, so it would be less than 115. How much is the big question. Use those guidelines and try to measure yours with the meter you have.

Don't worry too much about the db's. I've done a hundred dual sport and turkey runs and haven't seen a guy sent home yet. My buddy just blew a 98 the other day and they didn't blink an eye over it. His pipe is completely cored and if freakin loud at full honk.
Most tests are a 1/4 throttle holding the meter 20 inches away. They usually will have a string cut to that length. Don't hold the meter directly dehind the pipe hold it about 45 degrees out to the right. Also don't have anything even remotely close to behind the bike. The sound waves will bounce off it and you'll get a false reading.

Finally got a flier from one of the club members, not sure why they haven't posted it on their website yet. The club member did say "keep your fingers crossed for dry weather". They have not gotten a lot of the course marked off, and in some cases are not sure where the course will go. Quite a bit of it is on or around fields, and with the recent wet weather the farmers have not been able to get their crops out.
