Default Broken headlamp

Came back from a ride today with a broken headlamp The OEM retails at $109 on sites I've checked .

Anybody knows a better/cheaper alternative?

If you change for something else I could be interested to buy the plastic that goes around the stock headlight. That would lower your cost to change!

I saw some people changing to the trailtech x2, never tried myself.

Thanks for the suggestions. The X2 looks interesting, will consider.

Ray,
I have the TrailTech X2 and vapor computer. The X2 fits SO TIGHT that I'm not sure it can be done on an '06/'07 model while keeping the stock gage cluster. Someone please chime in if I'm wrong. I think Dan888 knows. You could also look at other lights that members have tried while keeping the gage cluster.

I am impressed with the X2 light output. It would be tough for me to go back to stock.

Have you checked ebay for a used part?

I'll likely never install my stock headlight and may as well offer it up for sale. I sold the gage cluster a while ago to another member who busted his up. Everything else is there. Brackets, lamp, plastic, etc.

I also have a spare X2 with the lower bulb intermittently working. Could be bad bulb or a wiring issue; I don't know. I could be interested in offering this up.

Scott, I have the Vapor computer too, since three years ago. Thus the X2 is a valid option for me, though I might need rearranging the mounting of the Vapor.

Still, your oem headlight is tempting... There is one on eBay, thanks for the suggestion. I'll pm you shortly.

Ray

Doum,

Just realized your interest while revising the posts... At this point I am not going to change, trying to get an oem unit. If I go another route and the plastic is available, I'll let you know!
