Guys,

I have all my mod parts in, FMF Q4/Pbomb, UNI filter, KDX snorkel and DJ jet kit. I don't really have time to get into the carb today - will the bike run like crap if I install the snorkel, filter and maybe the pipe/header before the jetting? More air without more fuel = bad idea?

 

Make the time to do it right!! Yes, the bike will run like crap and the resulting very lean mixture is NOT GOOD for the engine.

These bikes in stock form are on the lean side so anything that increases flow through the engine should be compensated for with the proper jetting. I wouldn't want to put much time on the bike with it leaned out from stock. I'm like you as I'm starting to gather the pieces to help the bike but I have to wait until I have all the stuff and do it all at once and check to make sure that air/fuel is where it needs to be.

 

I think your biggest gain is from the added fuel. Wait and do it all at once and leave plenty of time. The carb if fun to remove.

I pulled my snorkel before doing the carb and the bike ran like crap. I put it back.
