I just have about 1000 miles on the bike. The brakes did not start squeaking until I took it through some deep mud and sand. Add a pressure wash and instant squeak. I have not tried anything yet to stop the squeaking noise. Been busy trying to workout the jetting issues. Seems like I am working on the bike more now then riding it.

Sounds like sand in your pads. Take off pads, flick sand out, clean with brake clean and be done with it

Mine squeals a good bit after a rainfall.. but that's mainly due to the rotor surface having a slight rust colour to it.

Couple of hard stops and it's good as new.

I find itemizing my process to work well.
Fantastic itemized list. I see your priorities are in order, and raise you a beer.

Get the sand off your brake pad. Usually a good run through the river helps me.

some funny and informative answers. I like to remove the pads, lap them on course material (I find concrete works good at the track for this purpose) to remove the glaze, then re-install. I have the 10r track ride disks bead blasted, no squeaks.

I think if you drink enough beer, you will not have to worry about riding or driving anything...

Good point. I look at the label and have 97% with no other junk in it. Got it at I think Walgreen's.

I forgot to mention the other use of alcohol - no test rides until the next day...
