Bought a used 2006 KLX250S
I just joined the club the other day by buying a used 2006 KLX 250S. It had a whopping 28 miles on it.
I had two brand new motorcycles over the last year and a half and I really am enjoying this one the most.
I have about 180 miles so far and have been keeping the oil clean and have seated the rings pretty good.
I had pretty good luck breaking in my last two units. I re-jetted both of them and it made a huge difference.
I expect this one to do even more. Even though it does not really surge like the other two units.
The other units were a 2006 XR-650L and a 2005 Honda Superhawk.
I always liked little bikes because it's way more fun to ride a slow bike fast then a fast bike slow.. LOL
I did order a complete Muzzy pipe, kawi needle/jets and snorkel. Just to be able to get some fuel into
this thing. I am digging the 73 mpg and the cheap full coverage insurance. I do notice I am missing
the down low grunt of the other units but that's about it.
I looked pretty hard at super-moto type units but this showed up on the Craigs list right after I
sold my superhawk, and it was calling my name. Anybody order some super-moto wheels from
East-coast wheels?? I would use my hubs and brakes until I could locate another pair of stock hubs.
I could have a blast putting all 20 horses to the ground???
PS- I am 50 years old, so it's time to have some fun.

RE: Bought a used 2006 KLX250S
Thanks guys,
I thought I post a picture of why I want this bike. Great roads both on and off.
I moving out of the city to here. I even had my girlfriend build me a 60 by 50 shop.

RE: Bought a used 2006 KLX250S
The guy was selling it because he was getting transfered to another state. (Oregon)
By the looks of his Mcmansion he had to work all the time instead of riding his bike.
He was a good guy though and included a $1300.00 3 year free service package
from the dealer. (which I am bit leery to use) It was 4,100.00 out the door, which
is not bad because no dealers around Portland have any. I liked them when they
first showed up and they have been in the back of my mind ever since.
