bog mid range
Hi, I'm new to this forum and just got a KLX250 for my wife. She doesn't have a motorcycle liscense yet so I'm going to teach her. I took her bike out this afternoon (50 miles on it) and notice a slight bog when it hits 6-7000 rpm. It's all stock. Seems like the carb is running lean too. I want her to have a nice working bike before she starts to learn.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, it is running too lean from the factory. I don't think it will make much difference for your wife starting out. But I would start with re-jetting and disconnect the smog system. Start here: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_32156/tm.htm.

RE: bog mid range
I have a DRZ400E that I street legalize for myself (Only ride on the street or dual sport now). It's way to big for my 5'6" wife. I also have Gas Gas, a couple of KTMs and a 06 CRF450R. I have all these bikes because I race the PN up here in Canada. It's an expensive sport but if I sell my bikes within 2 years I will usally spend less on them then trying to keep an older bike running.
