yep,safety...hence the "push-pull".If the throttle does stick just push it back towards the idle position and the "push" cable will pull the throttle valve back to the closed position.remember on a flat slide carb you have the big *** spring under the slide cap which helps prevent a stuck throttle.Our stocker CVK carb does not have this.Most stuck throttles on a flat slide are from the cable binding up somewhere.

Sure there is a big spring under the slide cap on our CV carbs, this is what pushes the slide down and or controls the rate in which the slide opens. In fact many people cut a few coils off of that spring to get the slide to open faster.

That spring has nothing to do with the throttle tube and is no where near strong enough to force closed a stuck throttle.

His throttle is sticking due to the hand guard being too close to the tube, the tube end not having a large enough hole drilled into it (REQUIRED when installing the bar busters) and or his cables binding inside the housing.

When dealing with the throttle tube its much easier to cut off the very end of it than trying to drill through it. Even a sharp pocket knife will do a good job of it.
