ok, well looks like he had the wrong bolt in the wrong hole. took a good look and he had the long bolt in a short hole and vice versa and had used a heli coil..
anyways.. got it fired up!! missing one rubber gasket on the valve cover... found out after firing it up sounded like an exhaust leak.. put finger over hole found it leaking... cant find rubber washer...
Awesome!

final question,
whtas the typical break in? Ive never had to break in a new piston bore etc.. always buy used and sell before a rebuild..
Cant wait to go ride it! now i can focus on the cr250 forks i got for it!

Everyone has their own opinion on this question though...
Personally i was out doing wheelies with under 5 miles on my big bore install.

I would just take it out and ride it trying to vary the rpm as much as possible. Also getting on and off the throttle pretty hard to load/unload the rings wouldn't hurt either.

To do that correctly ride it like you stole it for the first 5 minutes at least.
Do not start it up and let it sit there idling away thinking you are doing good.
That does more harm than good. Like Wildcard said,, load and unload the motor so the rings seat properly.

done.. wow that 351 is a whole different bike!! now i need a different rear sprocket! need to go from a 45 to 42ish!
If i blip the throttle real fast though i get a knock like the piston is hitting?? anyone else heard this before?

Yes, and then my top end blew up. Holed out the piston into the crank case, shattered the valves and cylinder head, and cracked the cylinder sleeve. Chances are, you are just hearing something else.

Use a stethascope and listen to the top end, exhaust and intake to track down what you are hearing. harbor freight has them cheap.
Buy a 15 t front, you dont need to change the chain length and will be the same as going down 3 in the back.
