Claimed weights are one thing.
Actual weights another.

Hence the desire to actually weigh the bike.

From memory, one of the mags I used to read actually weighed every bike they tested.
I don't think the manufacturers liked that too much.

Great Info....thanks...I've been curious about the stock pipe,weight, especially. I wonder if the California version is similar, or maybe even heavier with all the emissions equip/catalytic converter, etc??
I was told that alot of the additional 09' weight was due to that here in Cal. anyway.
Looking forward to trimming the bike down a bit....

Ok guys weighed the bike on the scales with 2.5 gals of gas didnt ride it put it on an atv trailor this is an 09 with the cal. emissions it came in at 297lb just figure the gas weight and there you are. Ithink the manual says 282lb dry with the emissions.
