Just passing on some wisdom to any potential big bore owners. This is not something most people (including me) think to order when pulling the trigger on new big bore kit order.

If you live outside of the states or cannot wait for back order parts....remember to order another (spare) gasket set with your new big bore kit!! Should engine failure occur & an engine rebuild be need....hindsight is a bitch.

I have just waited 11 weeks to get a Kustom kraft "cometic" gasket set & a new set piston rings to be ordered & delivered to me in Thailand!! I got 12,000m on the big bore kit & was thinking of doing a rebuild at around 20-25,000 miles including new rings etc etc.

11 weeks would have killed me to wait if something catastrophic happened one day on a ride.

Mark at Kustom kraft was great to deal with btw, not his fault parts were not in stock at time of order.

Ditto! I didn't think at the time to do this, so I've ordered an extra one from BB and just had him deduct from my core charge when I return it. I live in Canada and don't want to wait a few weeks if I have to tear down the engine for some reason.

Talk about getting screwed on the internet...I can tell from the pic that the carb is a Chinese licensed Mikuni, not Bill Blue's version. Sorry, man.

Well, OK...that was total BS, but I hate hearing the unmitigated joy in a poster's thread when he gets new, cool stuff. Just makes you want to puke.

You're gonna enjoy that kit. Have fun.
