Default Big Bore Build!!!

Took some time today to disassemble the bike. All was going well, taking my time, nothing things, making sure not to drop anything into the abyss.

Then I made my first and costly (time consuming) mistake. I was so concerned with dropping a pin into the hole, I left the head bolts in and tried to take the head off, but hey what is this? The welded bracket for the engine mount is in the way and I can't take off the head . Is my frame bent? Oh god....Then i realized if I took the head bolts off I could just lift and slide the head out....which then I tried to slide out on the wrong side and made a big ordeal out of it. Gosh I need more sleep...

Anyway, hows the old piston look?

So I decided to run the CV carb instead of the pumper for the break in because I know the vacuum carb is set up to run well. I put in a 132 with stock pilot, but I'm getting A LOT of popping on decel so I may try going up one.

First time ever in a bike before so hearing that bike come to life was great! I was so stressed. Haven't been past 1/2 throttle, but still wheelies 1st and 2nd gear like nothing!!!!

Quick question, how can you tell between a lean surge or the clutch slipping? Bike has 12k on the odo and when I open throttle around 5-7k it feels like a small surge, but yet not really. Idk.

Which bore kit are you installing? Are you running stock cams at stock timing? Are you running the stock 14 tooth primary sprocket?
Are you saying it'll pull acceleration wheelies (no clutch) in second gear without even going full throttle?

More More...

Clutch slippage just revs the engine as if you we're fanning the clutch............and if you have a flat spot/surge, don't automatically assume its lean, could also be rich, I found that out after jetting higher for two weeks until I realized my exhaust was full of black soot from going too rich.

Yeah i jetting up to 132 but im at 2600ft above sea level, im going to run longer then change my jet if my mpg is in the ****ter. Its not really like fanning the cluth its more like rpm variation very slight like all of a sudden the engine can breathe after being choked

Going from 124 main jet to 132 might be excessive IMO.

Big bore doesn't always mean bigger jets, it's pulling more vacuum which pulls more fuel though the same size orifice.
