Big bore '96 model...?

Is it true that in KLX-250 '94-'96 the 300cc kit does not bolt on in these bikes , if i want to put the 300 stuff in my '96 i must bore the engine bottom ?

This is sad, but true.

The skirt on the 292cc jug is too bigto fit inyour case opening. You will have to split the case and have the opening machined to accepted the 292cc jug. If I were you, I wouldinvestigate havingyour 250cc jug bored out. I'm not sure how muchroom you have for boring on250R cylinder,but I know thatthePNis different from ours. One difference wouldthe smog reed valve, butI just don'tknow the extent of thedifferences.

And there you have it. It might even be worthwhile to piece together a 300R engine on ebay.
