Default Best street tires on stock 07 rims? ANYONE? Help with Kenda sizes.

I have asked this before but I am too lazy to try and find it. Haven't been hanging around here much lately so I don't know any of the latest. Just want to put some street treads on my stock rims. Doing about 95% street riding. I would like to spend less than more but I don't want crappy tires either. Avon distanzia I hear are good but a little pricey. Any other ideas? Please tell me the largest size tire I can get away with, without any rubbing. Thanks, Daniel.

Haha I remember that thread! I ended up going with the K270 tires due to the high miles people have gotten out of them and so I can still go down dirt roads and random off road spots I find along the way.

Are you speaking of the Kenda's? How do you like them? They seem very well priced.

I have 270's on my KLX and I like them, but if you plan on doing anything more than just casual, and occasional trail riding, use something more aggressive on the front, like a 760.
I found the front 270 to be really slippery especially in mud, or loose dirt, so I swapped it out for a Millville sticky (MX tire) that I had lying around, and it's been fine on the road.
Fronts last much longer, so you can afford to go a little more aggressive with them, if you need the traction off road.

I have been pretty happy with my Perrelli Scorpion MT 90 AT's I am currently at around 3000miles on them and the rear will need to be replaced soon. I am going to move up to a 90/90 front from the 80/90 and for the back I am moveing from 110/80 to 120/80 and 120/90 I think they may be a little more expensive than the kendas though
I dont have any experance with any other tire but I am happy enough with these that I only want to change sizes. From what I understand these tires have the silica compound in them simular to the Goodyear MT/R tires. The silica is supposed to serve two purposes. 1 grip better on hard surfaces like rock and road, & prolong the wear time. I was very happy with the perfomance of my Goodyear MT/Rs on the truck where I have plenty of comparison.

Hope this was worth the read.
cheers Jim

I have not had a chance to install them or even ride my bike. Probably wont happen till April. I might do a review on them but I am no tire expert.

So will a 90/90 or 90/100 tire fit on the front? What does the second number stand for anyway? And how about on the back? Could a 130/80 or 130/90 tire work on the back. I know the extra tire can be hard to turn but I wouldn't mind having the extra traction?

Default Choosing between two types of Kendas? Thoughts.

I am looking at two Kenda's. The 657's (mostly street) and the 671's (more dual sport).

Here are the available sizes:
657's

front
90/100H-21 6PR 56H TL 3.7/93 28.1/713 493/224 40/2.8 2.15x21 4.5 11.

Will this work?

Rear
120/90H-18 6PR 65H TL 4.6/118 26.4/670 638/290 40/2.8 3.00x18 6.5 13.89
130/90H-18 6PR 69H TL 5.2/133 27.2/690 715/325 40/2.8 3.00x18 6.5 15.21

Will the 130 fit on the stock rear rim or inside the fork? I was thinking it would not, but hoped it would.

671's

front-don't have a 21inch front offered, would just get the 657 above.

Rear
130/70H-18 6PR 63H TL 5.1/128 25.4/645 598/272 40/2.8 3.50x18 6.0 13.52
140/70H-18 6PR 67H TL 5.6/141 26.1/664 675/307 40/2.8 4.00x18 6.8 14.11

Will either of these fit on the rear rim or inside the fork?

Or shoudl I go with the older 761 model that I think are still available on e-bay?

Thanks gentleman.
