You've only ever replaced a plug due to electrode erosion ? I guess all the bikes i've ever owned must have been defective or you sir are a air/fuel tuning savant.

Just curious, how many plugs do you go through? Anyone else have problems fouling plugs.

I think your perceived definition of "fouling" is why your taking my words out of context.

When a spark plug no workey so good anymore and its not due to electrode erosion the reason it dosen't fire so well anymore is because its "fouled".

Not covered in black soot 2 smoke oil covered "fouled" like your thinking, but fouled enough that the spark being produced is less than optimal for firing the engine.

On my bikes, this usually takes about 15,000 miles or so though i can't speak to the KLX since i haven't put nearly enough miles on it yet.

I understand, i guess i never let my plugs get that far. Preventive maint. As for context a fouled plug is a fouled plug. Worn out is worn out.

Thats the distinction I was trying to make, those exotic electrode plugs are designed with those "super metal" tips to prevent spark erosion. If your plugs stop working before those reach service life then the plug is being fouled and your throwing money down the toliet to fix a non-existant problem.

True that, some people just gotta have that $15 Racing spark plug though. At least with the Klx you only need one.
