Default Best Place to find a 13T C/S sprocket

I need a new rear tire so I'll be yanking off the rim, along with doing some other winter maintenance (greasing swingarm and rocker arm bearings, installing rimlocks), so I figure while I'm at it I will yank off the stock sprocket and switch to a 13T since I hear many good things on the forum about doing this mod.

What I'm having trouble with is finding a good site to purchase a 13T that will fit a 2007 KLX250S. I did the search, ran through alot of threads but couldn't find an easy answer. Alot of what i read said some sprockets needed spacers to align the chain correctly and other hassles. I'm looking for a direct bolt up 13T sprocket that will fit with no hassles (other than breaking the stock one loose )

I searched renthal's, JT's, DennisKirk's, and bike bandit's site, it appears they do not make a 13T for the '07.

It appears that the following sprockets will fit my bike:

Sunstar 520:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...50S-Parts.aspx

Rockymountain ATV brand:
http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/pr...lVehParts=true

Looking for some help for anybody that has installed a 13T. Did you use one of these above, if so how is the quality? If not, which sprocket did you install. Thanks.

Anthony

My 13T is a PBI Products 453-13T "Made in the USA" and ordered by my local independent shop. Seems to work just fine.

The CS nut can be a pain. Put a breaker bar or similar into a hole in the rear sprocket and lock it against the swing arm to hold the rear wheel, then use a nice long cheater/breaker bar on the front.

I bought the RMATV one and it worked fine. I later changed back to the stock 14t and switched the back to a 47t and longer chain

Most small shops sell "Parts Unlimited" products. (The big catalog with everything you could want) MOOSE is a Parts Unlimited company, MOOSE sells a 13t sprocket # 1212-0073 specifically for the KLX 250s. Your shop can order it, you should not have to pay shipping and you should have it in a few days. Usually 2 days for the stuff i order. If they are not gouging you, its a good idea to patronize the little shops in your area.

+1 on that. It'll pay back when you need it.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

That being said I will go check my local motor sports shop. As long as the price ain't crazy, I'll definitely support them, as I am sure I will need their assistance some time down the road. This way here I'll be sure it fits too, and will have their assurance that it will be the correct sprocket.

Mine was a JT or something like that, I had to have a machine shop make a spacer for it.
