Yup, I have one, I just don't like the gap there...

Vs:

There's certainly a gap there, but some of that is due to the angle and position of the camera. In your photo, you are above and behind while in the Yami photo the camera is below and in front. That will definitely change the perspective. Try and take a photo of your bike from the same angle and camera position as the Yami photo and they will look a lot more similar. Note that in the Yami photo you can actually see the bottom of the skid plate, so the camera height is not much above ground level.

nobrakes, now that rearend looks sweet and tight. looks really good. the turn signals need some work, but i like the new fender (sub) and light.
Thanks. I just got some black semi-gloss paint and am going to try and make the signal brackets less noticable. I'm still not fully happy with the stock signals, but it's a work in progress. I'm just not ready to give up the bright blinkers. As Deej says, "I choose life"

I will say that the Baja Designs tail light is not very bright. I have already addressed that and I'll post up a few photos in a day or two. The look is not much changed at all and you can only notice up close, but it should be plenty bright now. Basically I just replaced that LED tail light that has all of 15 LEDs in it, with a little fab job using 60 ultra-bright LEDs. Some translucent hot glue helps to diffuse the light a little, I think it is much improved over the Baja light.

I'll be interested in seeing the physical arrangement and grouping.Didyou wire them in groups of 4? That would make 15 strips[sm=yikesomg.gif]! I've ofen thought of using about 3 luxeons,to avoidhaving to use so darn many superbrights.

I used standard LED tail light bulbs from the auto parts store. There are 12 LEDs per bulb, and I used 5 bulbs arranged in a shallow arc under the end of the rear fender. I just soldered directly to the bulb housing (ground) and the two contact points which are the running light and brake light and wired them all in parallel. There they are arranged as 5 circles of 12 LEDs each. I poured hot glue over them to hold them sold and also to provide a diffusing layer which makes them even more visible. They are very bright. I'll try and post a few photos maybe tomorrow.

Here it is. Nothing spectacular, I was really just trying to copy the Baja Designs look as much as possible, just brighter. It's defnitely alot brighter, and doesn't look bad at all, IMO. The black thing in the light is some black electrical tape that I used to block the direct backward light from two bright white LED's that I embedded in there to serve as a license plate illuminator. They work great. I got my bike inspected today for NC registration and everything passed no problem. Not that noticable in these photos, but I also painted and cut down signal light bracket - they look better now too.

Looks good.[sm=shades.gif] It even looks bright in the photo, so I can imagine it's pretty darn bright to the naked eye.
