Thanks!
I use Honda CR "High" bars from ProTaper. The stock height bars on my 2007 KLX-250S were too low for me standing on the pegs even though I'm only 5'6". The factory steel bars also are not very strong if you dump your motorcycle on the trail so, I'd opt for some strong Aluminum bars if it were myself at this point in time. The CR 'high' bars work really well for sitting with a little more sweep back even though they are slightly wider. This makes leverage on a hard rut better too. In my case, no issues with cables stretching tight on a tight parking lot maneuver either.

But will they work with the stock cables? I'd like a taller bar myself but don't want to have to replace cables. Thanks!

On my 2007 KLX-250S, the only thing I needed to change were the grips since I also did Acerbis bark busters. The stock cables on mine were plenty long enough. I can't speak for the more modern KLX's but, if you have a little slack with the steering locked going both directions, I suspect you wouldn't have any issues with the stock cables either.

The only thing I can think of would be adjusting them really low and putting more stretch into the cables. With a normal height, I would think you would do fine with the stock length cables though, a simple cable swap is easy and cheap if needed.

I don't want to replace cables and/or brake hose if I can get bars that avoid that. The ProTaper CR high bars sound like a good recommendation and I've seen other members say the same. So that's probably going to go with. Thanks for the info!
