And it begins!
Here I go, plunging into the dark depths of the klx, to go where no man has gone before (on my bike in any case).
Will post picts once my mate returns my camera cable.
In the mean time, I'll give verbal picts, just incase I strike trouble.
You're all out there ready and waiting to give me advise? aye? right?

ok. so. after a prolonged lunch break to help a mate pick up his new bike, i'm back to it.
carb is now out and staring at me on the table. reading the Mod Day by dirtsurfer, I've gotten slightly scared. The slide breather hole drilling, is that something to take note on? I'm putting in the klx 300 jets and needle...

Just drill the breather hole, the one next to where the needle exits the slide. Try the #128 main first. Too rich is better than too lean. When refitting the tank make sure the throttle cables run freely when you turn the steering lock to lock. It's all too easy really.

So, just got back from a rather quick trip to the mechanics, with carb in hand, featuring 2 burred screws. Giggling to themselves, the mechanics quickly sorted them out, and explained a few things i'd need to know. This should be simple.

just pull up the slide, and the needle comes out with it, then you can push it up and out. Careful not to rip the rubber diaphragm, and make sure it seats back correctly when you put it back in.
