Default Battery question

Could battery degradation cause engine problems like dying, hard hot start, hesitation at low rpm?

Valves are in spec and I already have a brand new sparkplug in there. Thank you.

In January, I forgot to take the key with me when I got to my job and found the battery completely dead at the end of the day. A friend gave me a jump (is that even right?), I rode it home, but I could only charge the battery by letting it connected to my car's battery, overnite. Yeah, I will eventualy buy a charger. After that it seemed fine, but not as good as before. I mean, the bike was running fine until 2 weeks ago and now it sucks below 4000rpm. One day it actually needed a jump after the battery got to the point of those damn clicks, from me trying to start the engine.

First thing I did was to check the valves. Then, replaced the plug and adjusted the EJK controller. Now, I have a new battery on its way. Hoping that's the culprit. It's been sitting in the garage since Sunday. It sucks having to take the bus during rush hour to go to work.

Yes it can. A shorted battery will pull the DC down below the level that many systems need to operate correctly. You can also fry your alternator trying to charge a dead battery.

Agree with lotrat. Killing a battery dead can mess it and everything it relies on. Get a new battery. Or charge and load test cycles on your battery to see if its functioning properly.
good luck!

(Double-check your alternator output, too.)

Well, the battery definitely needed replacement. But, unfortunately, didn't take care of the issue. Bike's in the garage again. This coming weekend, I'm taking it to a mechanic to help me find out what is going on. Talked to him last nite and it may be something with the EFI.
