My Utah skid plate has taken a beating and it has held up well.

The fit and finish of the Utah skid plate are great. It seems to dent pretty easily though

Thank you for telling me that shooter, it's good to hear from someone who has one fitted on a bike.

I have the Utah plate:

While it does work and does have great protection, if you ride in a lot of muddy areas the thing is a PITA to clean out. There's no drain holes in it excpt for the oil drain hole. Everything gets stuck up in there and even with a pressure washer it's so tight that you can't get all of it out.

I keep meaning to take it off and drill some half inch holes in it. Other than that though the F&F is good, and it's pretty tough.

+1 on the Utah being hard to clean. Fit is great tho.
I did put skid foam in there to help keep some of the mud out....don't really know if it helps any. W/e it was cheap

I used a large sponge in the front of the skid plate to keep the sticks, leaves and mud out of the skid plate. I cut it in half then trimmed some out of each half to get them to fit in there nice and tight. It works pretty good.
