Barbusters VPS Handguards and fuel filter mod.
Finally got around to fitting my Barkbusters VPS handguards, having them sitting in the garage for a week.
Initially I tried the Barkbusters Triple Clamp Kit to fit the guards to my Renthal "Jimmy Button 7/8" bars. This was a no no, as the Jimmy Button bars are about an inch too long for this application.
I swaped the clamps for a Standard 7/8" fitting kit at my local store and 20 minutes later had them fitted to the Renthals without a hitch. (There is about 10 mm clearance at the end of the standard levers, and all the other bar fittings clear the guards well.)
While down at the store I picked up a small in-line fuel filter just for some extra insurance. Took about 2 minutes to fit. It has barbs on the filter ends so there is no need for hose clamps. It fits nice and tidy. I also took the opportunity to fit a Kouba FS3 Fuel Screw as I also had the carb' out to revise the jetting.
The last pic is of the bike as it is now, the newest mods being those above and the Two Brothers M7 pipe.

That's funny man, today I went to the auto parts store and I was going to see if they carriedan oil filter and a plug, and I was going to also pick up a fuel filter. Trouble is I forgot about the filter, but I was surprised that Carquest made an oil filter for the KLX. In fact I'm the only on in town that has the KLX and yet they had 12 on the shelf. He said that it must fit a lot of other applications. Anyway, what fuel filter would be a good one to put on the bike?

Funny, the triple clamp mounts (BarkBuster Ego's) fitted my Renthal bars better the the standard mounts

Must be something to do with the " Jimmy Button" length/sweep/ rise. Who knows., could be the different VPS guard. I'm sure it was the sweep and the long length of the bar combined.
Found a link for you Deej. Mine isn't branded but it looks 100% like the K&N at the top of the link.
