Default Backfire when braking

Hi KLX fans,

I have installed 2 bros slip on and dj kit onto my '09 klx250sf. It is sure a noticeable and great improvement from stock.

I have noticed that it sounding like backfiring when throttle closed and braking. I don't know if this is just because the exhaust is louder now, or if this is normal with this modification. Any comments?

Sea level riding. 128 main jet. Mixture screw out 3 turns. Clip on middle needle position. (as per dj instructions)

Trouble shooting guide #9, third suggestion 'try turning the mixture screw out 1/2 turn'.

But since your already 3 turns out, try a bigger pilot jet #38 (kawasaski p/n 019-511) - 1 to 2 turns out on the mixture screw. Get a Kouba FS-2 mixture screw. Easier adjustments made while the bike is running instead of using a tiny screw driver. Hang Loose

Thanks Racegas, Great advice. I read the other thread and I would better describe it as popping noise rather than backfire
