I'd ask the shop if you could have the gear. Engine shrapnel makes great conversation pieces when you're sitting around the garage and bench racing and shooting the bull.

I had several 'holed' pistons, a couple of broken conn. rods and other misc. parts that came out of blown engines. The wife threw it all away one day thinking it was 'junk'! Humph, junk!

Seriously, I'm glad to hear that it's coming together now.

yes they are putting another stock gear back in,,, and its so rare that kawi wants it back to see what happened... so i cant have it... [>:].... yea im glad its coming together now...

That gear is what runs the counter balancer to make the motor run smooth must of just been a bad gear no stress on that gear

yea, thats what i thaught... when parts are mass produced a few bad parts get through every once in a while...
bad bear u know alot about bikes, ever seen that? or herd of it?

Hey nobrakes do you have a pic looking into the bottom part of your motor with the cylinder off? i could show which gear it is...

One thing he didnt say anything about is why it wasnt running right... hopefully when he gets it all back together it runs fine... he adjusted the valves... so that might have been it....

I think it's the gear in the upper right, is that correct? It actually looks like two gears laminated together.

ok... um ... now wtf.... yours looks like mine? the parts diagram says its only supposed to be one gear, and the mechanic said its supposed to be one gear? mmmmmm..... whats going on?

my connecting rod looked the same.... i think thats what color they are maybe....
