"Auto" headlight mod
#11
I did something very similar to this when I was doing a HID headlight mod. It worked a little different. When the IGN is turned to ON, the headlight would come on. But when you hit the start button, the headlight would turn off. Once you released the start button, the headlight would come on. I used a DPDT relay to do the job.

Not here it ain't.
I understand that most, if not all, bikes have the headlight wired on and it may well be ADR compliant.
But here in the west I'm pretty sure you don't have to ride with the headlight on.

There are certain things you are allowed to do to your vehicle and they are still road registerable.
I am 99% sure that switched lights on motorcycles are allowed.
Are grey imports allowed in NSW?

A lot of these things are state based even though the ADR stuff is a national standard.
My 96 Duke has a fully switched light.
Either way, unless things have changed, non ADR compliant bikes and cars can be registered here in WA.
Just got to prove road worthiness.

remember the old headlight dimmer switches that were mounted on the floor?...Well up here in Canada, they are returning. This is because of the high number of accidents the new Steering column dimmer switches were causing. Studies show that 78% of blondes were more likely to entangle their feet in the steering column when attempting to switch their headlamps to low beam!

How do blondes turn the light out before they go to bed?
