If that is correct, why did you need to mod yours to get it to fit and have to use tape to seal it up etc.? Not saying I don't believe you, just not understanding exactly you are trying to explain. After all, I am from Iowa and thus ignorant.[&o]

Also, what do you mean by "clamping", because both pipes are the same diameter aren't they? I know they are when they leave the cylinder.

I've since removed the tape and tweeked the clamp up tighter on recommendation from the guy at two Brothers. Still no leaks.
Initially I felt the fit was a little loose that's why I added the tape. The flange on my header is bigger than the 250's. I clamped the mid pipe to the header. The mid pipe fits inside the header pipe flange, the clamp sits on top of the mid pipe flange. On the 300 you clamp on top of the larger diameter part of the mid pipe, on the 250, because the pipe is shorter, you clamp on top of the small diameter part of the mid pipe. That is why the mid pipe is a 2 stage taper and also why it is longer.
Clear as mud.

edit: okay, I think you're trying to say that you clamp above whatever size flange you are using but not necessarily clamping the midpipe itself, but above the midpipearound the header pipe, depending on if it's a 250 or 300, right?

Yeah. The clamp goes around the header pipe (same as the OE set up.) The new mid pipe ( 2 Brothers,) fits inside the OE header.
I don't know about Muzzy or FMF but this is the 2 Brothers way, same as the OE set up and also the same as the Pro Circuit.
Mid pipe goes inside the OE header and the clamp goes on top of the flange on the OE header.

Mine is the same as this only the mid pipe goes into header a little further.
Hu Hu Hu Hu. I wrote FLANGE.[8D]

What does your header to muffler joint look like?
Is yours the other way round, header goes inside the muffler?

In the first photo you have the grey spring and in the second photo you have the white spring? is this the same bike or a different one? Or did you just upgrade the spring? Just curious.
Cheers!

i received my exhaust whilst the site was down, i could not be happier. a fantastic note - sounds like a real bike, i have ordered the P3 tip though, i dont want to annoy the neighbours too much in the mornings, but when i am in the dirt it should be awesome. im going riding this weekend so i will try to get some pics, i am also going to get a new tyre tomorrow to get that power to the ground.

once again thanks for all the help guys, i wouldn't have got it without all the info
