Default I'm already in trouble for spewing techno-gibberish in other posts ...

You can retract you inquiry at anytime, I won't be offended and at least half the KXL250 forum will utter a sigh of relief

Damn, can't help myself. It's a widget doo-dad thing-a-ma-jig like this:

Got it!

I wasn't really trying to bait you. I was just curious, wondering how the wide band O2 sensors compared to infrared emission analyzers.

I've been designing and manufacturing emission analyzers (2, 4, and 5 gas) since the mid 90's.

Here are the specs we currently adhere to:

Measurement Accuracy
HC: 0 to 2,000 ppm +/- 4ppm (parts per million)
CO: 0.00 to 10.00% +/- 0.02%
CO2: 0.00 to 16.00% +/- 0.3%
O2: 0.00 to 25.00% +/- 0.1%
NO: 0 to 4,000 ppm +/- 25 ppm

Measurement Resolution
HC: 1 ppm
CO: 0.01%
CO2: 0.01%
O2: 0.01%
NO: 1 ppm

Of course, all emission analyzers aren't created equally. Ours are some of the most accurate in the industry.

I don't know what the accuracy/resolution of the wide band O2 sensor is. They may be even more accurate.
