Anyone running trials tires?
I just bought my bike used a couple of months ago and since it had a bretty knobby tire and was ridden primarily on the street before I bought it, it is worn out. My cousin's husband is running a Michelin trials tire on his bike (a plated WR450) and he really likes it but is reccomending a Perelli MT43 and says that is what he will do when his Michelin wears out.
I have read a lot of reviews on the Perelli and it seems to be well liked. The only downside seems to be in slimy mud, snow and the like. On trails, over roots, rocks, occasional sand and on the street it seems to be as good and in some cases better than a more knobby tire like the D606.
Has anyone tried trials tires on their KLX and if so, what type of terrain have you ridden and how do you like them?

I havent run trials tires my self, and I'm not very familar with them. I would think they would be too soft for the street and tear to shreads. But I saw a lot of bikes with them on at the Tanum riding area last weekend. They seem to be getting really popular for trail riding.

I have the Pirelli MT43 on my KLX now and like it. It works good in everthing I've ridden it through. Rocks, sand, mud, creek crossings with wet roots on the other side, and stable on the road even at pretty aggressive lean angles. I have 1,000 miles of mostly trail on it so far without much noticable wear. When it wears out I will get another one.
I tried the Dunlop competition tires, but the rear was real uneasy feeling on the road and I had most of the ***** torn off in three days. I still have the Dunlop on the front, but plan on switching to a knobbie up front, it works on most terain except slick mud. When it slides out, it does it very suddenly.
