The thinking is for FM to get a local from the ADV forums to truck the bike up to New England area, he can stay on the train up to here, or right into Portland.
This is all in the idea stage right now, maybe, maybe not gonna work.

You know..... just pointing the compass north for a week or so??

August perhaps?

Anyone else consider such foolishness???
If you do decide to make the trip, scoot your **** over to the Avalon Peninsula. Head to the Whitbourne-Blaketown area and ask for directions to Old Shop. That's were I live, but I don't have my drivers license yet, so I can't really meet you anywhere outside of my community. The only place would be at Needs Convenience along Route 80. I can take you through the woods to a cool little place at the ocean. It's only about an hour ride, but it's a run ride. Pretty fun to goof around there to on the bikes.

If you're interested or if you have the time send me a PM

Close but not quite....my PM writing skillz must leave sumthin to be desired.

I'm planning on taking the auto train up to DC with the klx hanging on the back of my Explorer and then drive the Explorer to Portland.....klx all the way from there. When going home put klx back on Explorer and drive home.

Originally the trip from DC to Portland did not look like 10 hrs fast on the highway.....given time restraints and fun time on the klx .... I'm putting her on the Add a Bike Carrier and skooting up via cage.

Yeah, Yeah .... not a real adv ride ..... it will be from there.

Truth of it is, From DC to Portland on I-95 isnt as much an adventure as it is a "hope these crazy idiots in a cage look out for me" ride. Nerves would be frayed. Something about those NYC drivers, there worse then the Boston drivers, who are even worse then the DC drivers.
