Default Any sugestions for a long life street tire?

just over 1100 miles now and starting to look for a new rear.
i ride 90% road 10% dirt
any sugjestions?
i have seen some tire that prety much look like street tire but wonder what they would look like on the bike. (kinda like motard on stock rims)

on another note did anybody come over and let the air out of my front tire???
WTF i rode this mornig with no problems left the bike out fornt all day. got my son all geared up to hop on the back for a ride to mcdonalds. got down the street and noticed the front was completly flat. turn around air it up look for an obvious puncture (nail screw etc...) and nothing. put my ear down low to listen for a leak and nothing. hhmmmm pour water and look for bubbles and nothing. rotate the tire about 1/2 turn and still nothing. scrtach head for 15-20 min. chek presure and hmmmm holding fine. make a run for mcdonalds (only cause there is a service station in the same area with air) eat check presure and fine. came home drink beer check presure and fine.... so WTF????

For the street tire question, I've used a Metzeler Sahara Enduro 3 with great success on my ktm 640 adv which see's LOTs of asphalt.....ie 1,000 miles is nuthin...actually 4,000 is nuthin.

Now would I put one on my klx....no way...but if you really ride 90/10 you may like it. Good tire which can really lean an go on the slab. But it is no SM tire....it is still a dual purpose tire but mostly for slab..imho....but I think a Kenda TMII works good on asphalt on my klx, when she sees slab....just so you understand my opine...I don't mind a little slip n slide.

For the front tire leak....take off tire and put water on the tube.....find leak and patch.....don't bother puttin water on the tire....well you can but I don't know why you would do it.

It's tough looking for a tire that will perform on both the street and the dirt. Everything's a trade off with dual-sport bikes. An aggressive knobby will wear faster but a longer lasting street tire won't be as good in the dirt. It's hard to find a satisfactory compromise.

i guess i was thinking the water would show a leak like a tubeless tire.......
(kinda forgot about the tube lol) even still i should show a little air leak around the rim no????

ahhh what the hell its a reaqson to take something apart...
now to look around the garage to find something to hold the bike up...

ohhh ill take a look at the tires you mentioned

anyone try this?
i know it would be crap on dirt
but with most of my riding being to and from work i would be willing to spend the time to change back to a dirt tire for a weekend ride
