Welcome to the club, Carlb!

Just goes to show: "You don't stop having fun when you get old, but you do get old when you stop having fun!"

So, a KLX250 and a DR650. What other bikes have "peppered your past"? Any other sports / hobbies that you engage in? (My ex-Father-In-Law used to scuba dive until his late 60's, and had a "fleet" of 6 boats, all under 18 foot until his mid-70's. Then he discovered computers and all we ever saw of him was the back of his head! )

I am 50, and am seriously considering the KLX. Want to get the 15 year old boy a trail bike too. I don't have a need for speed at the moment. How about it, lets hear from the 50 and over crowd, if there are any.
I'm 51 next month and last months bought a klx250s for myself and a klx110 for my 9yo son.
They are both super machines! The 250 is kind of a dog but it keeps you out of trouble. A good thing as sudden speed sometimes causes crashes, which tend to be painfull for old-timers like be. Handling and suspension are excellent! This makes it a relatively safe ride.
I am very happy with mine, and would recommend to anyone.
My kid loves his ,too.

Deej,
The 110 is suited for those about 4 to 5 ft tall. We went out gain this weeked and my kid and I did some cool trail riding.
He previously rode an electric powered "Razor 500" which was not too bad, actally. He w
s able to fide with the 50cc's untill the charge got low (1 hr). He rode that a few months and I got him the 110.

It depends on what you want to do. To small for the sand, not enough power. Takes some getting use to on the gravel roads the short coupling makes it twichy but fun as you get use to it. It's great to put around on pavement and fire roads but outstanding on single track trails. Im 59 over the big bores and really enjoying the 250.
