RE: Any KLX owners in their 50's
Slip,
I'll be 50 next February...
I think the KLX would be a great bike for a 15 year old (I wish someone would have bought me a trail bike when I was young!). A 50 year old can have a good bit of fun on one too! I use mine for commuting, and trail riding sometimes on my off days. It's quite underpowered in it's stock form, but the mods were fun and simple to do. It's light and nimble, and a lot of fun!

With everyone talking about walkers (and no doubt with this crowd, only a high performance walker would be acceptable), I wanted to see what all the excitment was about.
Now I understand why everyone wants a high performance walker:

I am 50, and am seriously considering the KLX. Want to get the 15 year old boy a trail bike too. I don't have a need for speed at the moment. How about it, lets hear from the 50 and over crowd, if there are any.

They are both super machines! The 250 is kind of a dog but it keeps you out of trouble. A good thing as sudden speed sometimes causes crashes, which tend to be painfull for old-timers like be. Handling and suspension are excellent! This makes it a relatively safe ride.
I am very happy with mine, and would recommend to anyone.
My kid loves his ,too.

I guess I'm the oldster. I turned 72 this October. I ride like I'm 90. the KLX250s is still too tall for me, going to do all the cheap mods, and koulb links. also struggle up on a Suzuki dr650.
