Default Any info on upgrading the KLX250 stator/coil?

I searched and surprisingly nothing came up on being able to upgrade our stators/charge coils. Is there a "high output" option? Would be nice to get more than 200 watts of juice if possible.

Most people rewind their stator.

Just found this chart :
STATOR Reference Chart
http://www.bajadesigns.com/tech-info...eference-chart
They also have an upgrade for our bike. Stator Rewind, KLX250/300
http://www.bajadesigns.com/ProductDe...mNumber=126003
Seems it only gains 40W, but that could be enough.
And the output for stock seems way off, maybe they are calculating unused watts?

I'm curious, why do you need more power? Several on here run their bikes with heated gloves and vests with no problem. What else are you looking to do?

Try it now, I removed the code embedded by the forum when I copy and pasted, should work now.
OR NOT. Not sure what's up. At least now you can copy and paste it.

Links work fine here. Good info for those looking to upgrade. That's a good price at nearly 1/4 of the cost of a new oem.

Might not be a bad idea to give Baja Designs a call to make sure that their stator works with different year bikes. Probably does, but there are different part numbers for the stator on bikebandit.com between the '03 klx300 and '09 klx250s. At least they should know for sure what works.

$120 isn't bad for an upgrade, though unless I'm blind, I don't see the increase specified. I read that our stock stators are worth 224W total.. another 40W would be great, especially coupled with a 35W HID headlight in place of the stock 55W Halogen and an LED taillight. Should be enough to run GPS, heated jacket and gloves without issue.

Now if I could just find the same thing for my Gen1 FZ1...

It's right in the reference chart. 90 stock to 130 rewound... I'm assuming this is a comparison of "usable" power.

I know... I wan't one too and I don't even need it!

Gota focus... and keep looking for new helmet

Yep, I'd ask the same question.

Perhaps if you are wanting to run a bunch of additional off-road lights, a full heated suit, or a stereo (please no!), I could see the possibility of needing some more watts.

I have been running heated grips, heated insoles, gps, and phone/ipod charger, sometimes all simultaneously, for a couple of years now, without any problems maintaining a full charge.
