Our roads around here have been tore up so many times its not funny, but the one stop light that I go to, (well actually we only have one stop light ) has a patch that is about 2 ft wide and 10 ft long, I just get in the middle of it and put the stand down. One day I forgot and was off to the side by about 2 ft and it wouldn't change for nothing, so I looked both ways, and rode through it.

I put my sidestand down my engine stops ... have you guys disconnected your stand cut-out?

I haven't disconnected anything on the kickstand safety switch. Mine only cuts off if the bike is in gear and I let the clutch out. As long as I have the clutch in and/or bike in neutral, the kickstand can be in any position.

I installed one of those magnets on the sportbike I had, which is much closer to the ground. It was worthless. I used to ride as fst as possible directly over on of the wires. Basically I'd stop as late as possible, while taking care to avoid any greasy spots. It worked maybe 50% of the time. I never tried putting my kickstand down.

I have one and it works on some of the lights I used to have trouble with, but not all of them.

I've never tried the kickstand trick, but I've been told if you put the stand down on the outer edge of the patch, it's supposed to work. I've also heard if you re-start your bike, the magnetic force from the starter turning is supposed to trip the light, but I've never had it work here in Florida.
