ANOTHER Sproket question
I know you all are sick of the same ol questions, but it is time to start my mods. I have been riding my zrx constantly and took the klx out and it really needs more. What size front sprocket is the most common for adding a little more torque and what one is easiest to get.I know you have gone over this so many times but remember something about some don't have the shoulder and I don't want to be shimming anything and hope to use the stock chain.I have my full FMF on order and the jet kit on the way. I'm dropping the bike off at the local Honda/kawi dealer for all the work to be done.I thought I remember something about a honda sprocket that will fit or was it a kawi one? OK now you can bash away because I didn't use the search feature.hahahaha

RE: ANOTHER Sproket question
I don't think the search is very easy to use here, butI guess I should only complain if I were actually paying to use this site.
Readmy "Is the countershaft nut 27mm" thread. I ended up getting the 13 tooth Moose sprocket moose part # 1212-0073 which is listed specifiically for the 06-07 klx 250s. I bought it at the local MX shop, and they just ordered it fromparts unlimited. It fits just like the stock sprocket, shoulder and all.

RE: ANOTHER Sproket question
a company named PBI sprockets makes both front and rear for our bike, and i've been using 13 front, 45 rear for a couple months now with nearly zero wear. they are in the western powersports offroad catalog, so any dealer should be able to order them. when i was trying to look them up, there website was under construction.

RE: ANOTHER Sproket question
Deej,I actually spelled sprocket wrong because I knew your OCD wouldn't let it slip by.hahahaI know my buddy's shop can get moose parts so I'll just order that one. Now will that 13t sprocket let me retain the stock chain with enough adjustment? I'm looking to finally open this thing up and hope it gives me what I'm looking for. Thanks guys

RE: ANOTHER Sproket question
+1 Yup the stock chain works fine. You will need to click the chain adjusters back a couple notches, but that put mine in the middle of their adjustment range.

I'd like to see one of these guys with the 331/340, try putting a 15T front sprocket on just to see what she'll top-out at. C'mon, I know at least one of you guys are itching to try it.
