Default Another new faceplate / headlight

Oops I did it again I saw this on fleabay and just had to get it. The white one I got is a good unit however the light is pointing at the trees and makes the bike useless for night travel (I commute on it remember). Its off a KLX250R I don't know what year although the US 1996 KLX250R unit looks the same it has a different p/n. It has an adjustment screw and I believe it will be a better light than the others (except the stock unit of course).
Just a revision of my strange habit of collecting faceplate / headlights

LOL.... nice graphics... haha... you can tell its a '90's

I saw that black headlight assembly on a custom chopper on American Thunder tv show on the speed channel... how is that with light.... (the black one) Does it provide decent light?

Well .... its like this, I didn't know how to hook it up right, low beam looked good but high beam was dull and unusable so I swapped it for the white one. Told the guy it was drawing too much current and was no good lol, he was good about it and to be honest I liked the looks of the white one better. The black one used those halogen lamps like in desk lamps and downlights, I don't know how well they would have been focused and how long they would have lasted.

My preference would be either stock or the new one.

Speaking of lights, is anyone aware of any upgrades to the headlight itself that would provide better night lighting? I commute as well, and am occasionally running mountain roads at night. I'd like to see a brighter option that would fit in the stock assembly - maybe a bulb upgrade orsomething thatwould fit in the stock faceplate?

I had been dreaming of some kind of replacement headlight that would offer something likea dual halogen or something (thinking of sport bikes I've seen), one spot, one fog to light things up? Should I keep dreaming???

UTRoss, I certainly don't want to insult your intelligence, but have you checked your headlight orientation? I knocked mine out of alignment in a wreck and just eyeballed it close when I fixed the damage. When riding with Eric down in Florida we noticed that my headlight was pointed way up. Once I re-oriented it, it made a big difference.

I am sure you have probably already looked into this, but just in case I thought I would throw it out there.

Yeah I liked its "evil" look but when I couldn't get the lights to work right (my own mistake) I swapped it for the white one

yep Brian the new one it is, it's a lot lighter than the stock and hopefully as good or almost as good light

You can get HID H4 bulbs but they are pretty pricey

Cheers

ya...headlight is aimed right...

HID H4 bulbs huh, might look in to those, but I'm not looking to break the bank either.

Thanks for the info!

dammit! my work has started blocking photobucket (we use WebSense on our corporate proxy), so now I can't seealot of the images (e.g. this thread). Please! Everyone don't use photobucket so I can see your pics! (kidding of course)

Anyone else behind WebSense that noticed this?
