Another mini (state) ride report
So, I managed to get out of the shop at a decent hour yesterday, and there was no rain !!
Because I am in the city, and darkness arrives early, I have to maximize my off road time. If I travel to the State Park, Its 35-40 mins each way, That leaves very little time to eat dirt. So I started scouting out around the highways, and looking for trails along the power line corridors
So I hoped on the KLX, and had a place in mind I had been checking out on Google Earth.
A quick zip thru the congested streets, and I found the Power lines I was looking at on the maps.
A quick trip down the side street, and look over there,
A little dirt trail off to the left
Lets GO !! I wonder whats down there.
Oh, can’t go very far to the left
Let’s see what’s over to the right.
Oh yea, the power lines.
This looks like it will be fun !!
Yikes, that’s not the way to go, thats deep, and there are rocks strewed around in there, and did I mention It was deep, and I am alone, and if I get buried, I am up the creek. . .
and I aint wearing the proper gear. . .
So I ***** out then spin around and head off up the other trail.
This will work !!
Looks like this gets close to the population.
Of course, more power lines, I am liking it !!
This is where I ended up after a nice 15 miles of trails. There are lots of little spurs from where the locals ride there quads, and I really enjoy the slow poking along, I am really getting the balance of the KLX down to a science now. The more I ride, the more I like it !!
Can’t follow these lines anymore, !! Somebody put the dam interstate in the way !!
But, I saw one of the little spurs off the main line, and looking at my GPS, me thinks there’s another power line close by, let’s go see !!
Of course we gotta get a self portrait in there, see all the dam mosquitoes,
Ya gotta be real careful on these powerlines, lotta steel snakes, can really trip ya up bad if ya aint careful
Before I know it the sun is over the horizon and its getting dark out.
I get home and oddly enough, no one knows why I have this sh*t eating grin for hours and hours.
Cant wait for the weekend, I might be able to get out for a whils Saturday afternoon. Lets hope the rain holds off.

I have a lot of fun sneaking into these little secluded corridors of peace and quiet. I live in the North East, in the metro area, nowhere like where alot of you's guys. I can only imagine the riding possibilities in a rural area, small towns, mountains, Outback, I am so jealous.
I work way to many hours, so a little peace and quiet like this really is the best therapy !!
