One would want it to be stiff; all that stuff flapping around on flimsy metal would just break itself apart. The little L-brackets we used on mine are solid hunks of alluminum. Everything should be super-stiff and hard or it'll just break itself apart.

I'd be really curious to see some pics of that bracket myself, can't wait to see it posted.
