so a while back i asked for advice about how hard i was pushing the ole two fifty mine is and sf with a tooth up front and full jet with tbr exhaust and i used to cruise at 7-8k around 80 mph but latley ive been working a lot more and driving a lot faster basically 1000 rpm shy of revlimiter sooooo dumb question
how bad am i hurting her and what do i need to service more often to make up for my abuse because im not letting the crotch rocket dust me ever again. toooo much srap talking now i shut em up when i pass em in traffic

Just change your oil very often and may be change your gearing

I run stock gearing and run 80 mph all 20 miles to work during the summer... I felt bad for the little SF, but like my dad always told me as a kid... Run it son!

 

Hmmmm I hit 8.5 and 9 for short bursts, but highway riding at 60 I'm at 7 grand and thats all I'm pushing it.

 

I think you need a different bike

 

I bought mine in late march of this year and I have 8,000 miles on my bike about 70% highway from 60-75mph. Had the valves adjusted last week and the shop said it was tip top. I run full synthetic and change it every 1000 miles and change the filter every 3000 miles. I bought it as a commuter bike and even ride it on the weekends 300-500 miles.
