Default another 351 question

When I start the 351 it seems to work the starter and battery harder, as in more compression. Killed the battery starting it even with the engine warm. May be my battery is going south. Any one else notice any difference in the way they start?

My 330 does the same thing, except the kill thing. Once you run it in a bit it will be easier

When I built the first two 351 bikes they had to have new batterys, the batterys went bad. After putting new batterys in th bikes haven't had any problem.

You wouldn't think with the compression release it would much more strain on the battery, but it fires right up with a little extra from a charger so your probably right. With the new carb I wonder how bad it will flood after a tip over? I ride alone alot so I'm thinking pretty serious about putting on a kick starter. It's a real biotch to bump start one up hill in the sand.
