Am I running too rich or too lean

Thanks guys. I'll either cover some of the opening of the KDX snorkel with electrical tape or put the stock one back in until I can get it re-jetted.
I tried going to that jcmotors.com site to look for the Jet kit but the site is down. Any other suggestions. I'd like to keep this as simple as possible.

In simple terms, "octane" is a rating for the rate at which the fuel will burn. Higher octane fuel will "burn longer." Lower octane is a faster burn. As said above^, it's not really related to fuel "quality" or amount of oxygenation.
See what your spark plug tells you, as regards lean vs rich. I suspect it's running lean, but let your engine tell you; look at the evidence and don't assume.

NO. This is incorrect. Burn rates are essentially equal. Higher Octane rating refers to an air-fuel mixture which increases the combustion temperature of the fuel and reduces the proclivity to detonate. Octane is not related to burn rate.
