Almost there.....My mod weekend...
Well, this is my first post of a project with pictures, so bear with me if I screw it up.
A couple of months ago, I got a wild hair and decided the bike, she just ain't fast enough, so I contacted our friend Bill Blue. We proceeded to make a few deals on some used cylinders I found over here, and also I ordered a new stainless brake line. A couple weeks goes by, and there is a nice surprise waiting for me in the mail......331cc's of thump!
Right about the same time, I come across a used engine from a KLX250SR here in Japan that is up for auction. I couldn't believe my eyes, it only has 1400km's!! It also came with electric AND kick starter! It has been parked in a field for a couple years though, so the outside looks a little rough. Starts and runs without any odd noises, according to the translation service....lol.
Along about two weeks later, I come across some Nassert High-lift cams, so some more money out of the wallet, and more waiting at the mail box. As soon as these last pieces come together, it's off to the shop to tear into her, and see what she's got. After installing the cylinder and cams, I wire brush off all the rust, tape it all up, and proceed to throw some paint at it.
Now it's time for some sleep, and wake up in the morning, remove all the tape, and see the handy work. Hopefully by Wednesday, I will be riding this new beast.
Now for the question: What jets should I use for the stock CVK? I have the DJ kit for the KLX300, along with full Delta exhaust, which I think is the equivalent to the Muzzy. All my riding is on the road, so the smooth response is more favorable to the neck snapping, wheel lofting pumper option. I know I may be opening up the flood gate for arguments, but I don't want to spend the next few weeks getting really good at removing and replacing jets.

Go big on the main jet. The KLX likes a lot of gas once she gets above 5K. I think the DJ #132 main is the largest in the kit. Stock pilot (#35) will be good for a trial run, I'm sure you'll be winding the fuel screw out to about 3 turns with the 331 kit. You may need to go up to a #38 or a #40 pilot later. It's always better to run rich than lean. Nice kit you've got there. Let us know how it all comes along.

WestOz - Yeah, the 132 is the largest, and I was planning on using that one, and three turns to start. I will probably go with a larger pilot if she doesn't run how I want.
Savage - The funny thing about that engine, because it sat in a field and looked like crap, i got it for $120.00 plus shipping. The Japanese don't usually like to be hands on as much as we do, so they take their bikes to shops instead of working on them at home. I love this stuff, so I was very happy to take the engine off their hands...lol.
