ALERT - 340cc Kit on Ebay for $500
It makes me sick that I can't take advantage of this, but hopefully someone here can. There is a 340cc kit on Ebay right now for $250 with a Buy It Now option for $500.
Someone go get it!

RE: ALERT - 340cc Kit on Ebay for $500
Sorry guys. Nevermind. I couldn't do it. I had to buy it myself. My wife is going to freaking kill me when she finds out but I just couldn't pass it up. Brian, I might be looking for a place to crash tonight.
I called her when I saw the listing and pitched the idea to her. She very rightly pointed out that we don't have an extra $500 and I know she is right. She said that if we could sit down and update our finances and find the money, then we could talk about it, but I knew the kit would be long gone by that time. That's when I posted the Alert.
I then went back to the Ebay listing and kept checking it every 5 seconds or so. I just knew that one of you jokers would hit it. That lasted about 45 seconds when I came up with my great idea. I decided to go ahead an buy it, and then have the discussion about our finances to see if we could afford it. If we decide the answer is "no", then I will just relist it on Ebay or sell it to one of you guys directly if someone is interested at that point. I will go ahead and tell you guys that if I do sell it here, I will set the price at $525 plus actual S&H to whoever gets it. I just paid $500 plus $25 S&H, so that is where the $525 comes from. Make no mistake, though, I am going to push pretty danged hard to find that money in our budget though.
Wish me luck.

LOL...... good luck man.... make sure you post a pic of your black eye your wife will give you..... lol Your wife seemed like the type of woman that is really nice, but ya dont wanna make her mad.... i wouldnt wanna see her angry.... lol
Now is it really 340cc's... or 331cc's...... now is it just the cylinder or the whole kit? Do you have to find a piston for a 340cc?

Way to go, Chris! I hope you get to keep it. What I do in cases like this is to buy the wife something - tell her to go and buy those earrings she's been wanting or whatever. It's more money and more saving, but hey, you get to keep your new toy.
But if you need a place to crash, we'll make a spot for you.

Whoops! All joking aside I think I overshot the mark on this one. You guys will get a kick out of this.
My wife just called and she had just checked our email at home. Well, you guessed it, she saw the Ebay email confirming my winning of the auction. Needless to say she had a few questions. Actually, that's an understatement. She was more than a little #@%@ed off! Well, the long and the short of it is that I am trading emails with the seller to see if he will let me take the hit and pay for him to relist the item and he refund the rest of my money. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!
For those of you that think I am a whuss that just caved, trust me when I say that she had me dead to rights. I have gotten a lot more goodies recently than she has (or the 4 kids for that matter). Kind of tough to fight the good fight when I don't have a leg to stand on.

Well, all's well that ends well, I guess. The seller of the 340cc kit refunded my money minus $20 which will cover his Paypal charges and relist fee for the item. I am dying for that kit, but I will have to hold off for a while.
I am pretty sure that he is going to relist the item shortly on Ebay. He inquired about this site, so he will probably pop in and advertise it.
I can tell you that he is a stand up guy. First of all, he has a 100% rating on Ebay with >>100 transactions, so that is good. He was responsive to my goof up and did me right, I think.
Hopefully one of you sorry dogs can scarf up that kit. I'll try not to be too jealous. [:'(]
